Green, Even If Blue Is Loved

I read this line somewhere and it stayed with me longer than I expected.

You can be the prettiest shade of green in the world, but it will never be enough for someone whose favourite colour is blue.

At first it sounds sad. But the more you sit with it, the more it feels… honest.

Green is not flashy. Green doesn’t announce itself. It shows up quietly ....in small routines, in patience, in staying when things get uncomfortable. Green is chai in the evening, old songs playing , healing that happens slowly without anyone noticing.

Green grows. Even when nobody is watching. Even when it’s not being appreciated.

But when someone loves blue, green starts questioning itself. Maybe I should tone it down. Maybe I should change a little. Maybe I should become easier to love.

And slowly, without realising it, green starts shrinking itself.

The truth is ...no amount of changing will make green feel at home in a place meant for blue. And that doesn’t mean green isn’t beautiful. It just means it was never meant to belong there.

We’re taught to believe that being chosen is everything. That if someone doesn’t pick us, it must mean we weren’t enough. But sometimes, it’s not about enoughness at all. Sometimes it’s just about mismatch.

Green belongs where it can breathe. Where it doesn’t have to prove or explain its depth. Where it’s loved in its natural state ... messy, growing, imperfect.

There is a strange kind of peace in accepting this. In realising that not every space is meant to hold you. That not everyone is meant to understand your colour.

And one day, someone will look at green and not compare it to anything else. They won’t ask it to change shades. They won’t wish it were blue. They’ll just feel safe.

Until then, be green. Drink your chai. Take your time. Grow at your own pace.

You were never meant to be blue. You were meant to be whole.
