This was my reminder

The past few days felt heavy...like the air itself was too thick to breathe. My body wasn’t listening to me, my mood was all over the place, and everything felt like too much and nothing at the same time. I kept telling myself, this will pass, even when my heart refused to believe it.

There were moments when I felt like I was slipping, when even brushing my hair or making my bed ..... the little rituals that usually make me feel grounded .... felt impossible. I’d look around my room, see the unmade bed, the clutter, and it felt like a reflection of my mind. Unsteady. Messy. Tired.

But somewhere in between those restless nights and tearful prayers, I found myself whispering to God again. Not asking for miracles ... just for a little peace. For something to remind me that He’s still listening. And He did. In His quiet way, He showed me He was.

Slowly, things began to shift. My body started to ease, my heart started to calm, and the weight sitting on my chest began to lift, little by little. I realized that healing doesn’t come crashing in ... it tiptoes. It arrives gently, when you’re finally ready to receive it.

I kept thinking of my parents, how they call me just to make sure I’m okay.....my dad, who never fails to pick up whenever I need him, who still treats me like his little princess no matter how grown I pretend to be. My mom and sister, who love me in the kind of quiet way that doesn’t need words ... it’s in the checking up, the tone of their voices, the care that never asks for anything back.

And my friends ...not many, but the real ones. The ones who call, text, notice when I go quiet. People ask me why I hang out with only one or two, but I’ve realized I don’t need a crowd. I’d rather have the few who feel like home than many who don’t really see me.

Now, I’m just sitting here with this deep sense of gratitude. For the small things ... for feeling okay again, for being able to breathe without fear, for the warmth of people who love me, for God’s quiet hand in everything. I know now that even when life feels  uncertain, He’s still there .... guiding, healing, holding......

Maybe all of this was just a reminder ....that He tests our faith not to break us, but to show us how strong it already is. That He doesn’t always take the pain away immediately, but He gives us enough strength to hold on until it passes.

And tonight, I feel lighter. Still tired, maybe, but peaceful. Grateful in the besttt way. Because I made it through —...not alone, but held in ways I didn’t even see...
