Stuck in 2025, but heart's in 1961
I swear I was born in the wrong era. Like my heart accidentally got left somewhere in the 60s...probably sitting inside a dusty record shop where Elvis is still playing on vinyl and people still write love letters with shaking hands instead of typing dry blue ticks. And then here I am… lying in my 2025 room, listening to Can’t Help Falling in Love and suddenly I’m not here anymore. I’m somewhere else. In a dream where love feels… quiet. Certain....
But then reality hits. And reality is just..ugghhh. People keep coming and going, saying things they don’t even mean, loving you half and then leaving half. Everything feels like a puzzle I can’t figure out. And honestly? I don’t even want to figure it out anymore. It’s too loud, too draining. And then that one line comes in like a soft punch: “Take my hand, take my whole life too.”
Bro, that line destroys me. Because it’s not some over-the-top filmy dialogue. It’s simple. Plain. But it’s everything. It’s exactly what I want but can’t find........someone who looks at me and says, “Yeah, I’ll take all of it. Your mess, your moods, your confusion. Everything.” No games, no backup plans, no leaving halfway. Just… choosing. And sometimes I sit and wonder, does that even exist anymore? Or am I just in love with old songs and the idea of forever they sell?
So I stay stuck in this weird space. One side of me is tired, irritated, done with everything. And the other side is still sitting on some imaginary terrace under stars, secretly waiting for Elvis to sing directly into my soul.....aish..... I don’t even know which version of me is the real one anymore....the exhausted me or the dreamer me.....
But maybe this is the only way I know to survive. To keep daydreaming even when I feel lost. To keep replaying the song even when life feels like static noise. To keep hoping that one day, someone will actually hold my hand..even if I don’t know where I’m going.
Till then, I’ll just be here. In this soft mess. In this confusing half-light. Somewhere between reality and a love song that’s older than me, but still feels like it was written exactly for me.
