When You Are Too Tired to ASK

There’s a strange kind of loneliness that comes when you know you have people… but you just can’t bring yourself to talk.

Not because they don’t care. But because you know they’re already dealing with enough. So, you convince yourself that your pain is minor. That what you're feeling isn't big enough to take up space.

Even if someone asks “how are you really?” .... you still hesitate. Because you don’t know how to talk about your pain without feeling like you’re making it all about yourself. You end up overthinking your own sadness: "Am I being too dramatic?" "Am I hijacking the moment?" So you water it down, brush it off, tuck it away.

But then there are moments ... late nights, long walks, closed doors .... when it hits you. That you’re tired too. That you're holding too much. That maybe you need someone too, but you're too scared to ask.

So, you stay quiet.

And that silence? It’s not peace. It’s not strength. It’s survival. And it slowly eats away at the softness in you.

But today… maybe it’s okay to say this much ... “I’m not okay.”

And maybe, just maybe, that’s a start. Not a solution. Not a dramatic breakthrough. Just... a whisper in the middle of all this noise.
